Overview of the Product Management Course

Whether you’re launching your first product or scaling complex initiatives, this course equips you with the strategic skills to transform ideas into market-winning solutions

Week 1: The Modern PM & Systems Thinking

Think like a builder, not a manager – apply systems thinking to map complex problems and design products for real-world African contexts.

  • Shift your identity from task manager to “Venture Builder.”
  • Map “Wicked Problems” and complex local ecosystems.
  • Understand the nuances of building for collectivist cultures.

Week 2-3: Market Sizing & The “Starting Line”

Validate your idea and navigate the landscape-size your market, define your target users, and design a smart regulatory and compliance strategy for building in Kenya.

  • Filter your idea using the TAM/SAM/SOM framework.
  • Factor in the “Invisible Market” (informal economies like Chamas).
  • Define your exact target users and calculate initial viability.
  • Navigate the Kenyan regulatory landscape (CBK, IRA, Digital Health Act).
  • Design your “Privacy Promise” for ODPC compliance.
  • Strategize whether to get licensed or utilize strategic partnerships.

Week 4-5: The Trust Bridge (User Discovery) & The AI Blueprint (Smart PRDs)

Turn user insights into clear product direction-conduct discovery, uncover real pain points, and use AI to create prioritized PRDs.

  • Overcome the “Trust Tax” to get honest answers in user interviews.
  • Use the 5W2H framework to extract real human pain points.
  • Master the “Warm Intro” to unlock genuine community feedback.
  • Use AI as your data analyst to synthesize messy interview notes.
  • Draft a prioritized Product Requirements Document (PRD) in minutes.
  • Map specific user pains to exact functional features (The Lock & Key rule).

Week 6-7: Vibecoding I (Initializing the Prototype) & Vibecoding II (Hierarchy & UX)

Rapidly prototype AI-powered products and design intuitive, mobile-first UIs optimized for ease and high-frequency use.

  • Skip long Figma design cycles and start building with AI (Lovable).
  • Prompt the AI to set up your product’s “Memory” (Database logic).
  • Create “High-Context,” data-lite UIs optimized for African mobile users.
  • Apply the “Kitchen Counter” rule to organize your home screen.
  • Optimize your interface using the “One-Hand” thumb test.
  • Ensure your core, high-frequency features are front and center.

Week 8-9: Polishing, Emerging Tech and The Feedback Loop (Propensity Testing)

Refine your product for real-world use, integrate emerging tech, and gather actionable user insights to drive effective design and marketing.

  • Handle real-world edge cases (slow internet, offline modes).
  • Design for failure using the “Error with Kindness” principle.
  • Audit how to integrate “Superpowers” (AI, Blockchain, Digital Mapping).
  • Take your functional AI prototype back to real users.
  • Observe behavior rather than just asking questions to measure true propensity.
  • Extract user “Buzzwords” (Heart Words) to build your marketing copy.

Week 10: The Grand Demo & Scale

Prepare for your next career move in product management with a structure professional development program:

  • Present your functional Proof of Concept (POC) to peers and stakeholders.
  • Finalize your Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy using your community’s Buzzwords.
  • Map out your technical and operational roadmap for scaling the system.
